2026-06-05
At a poultry farm in Shandong, 38,000 white‑breasted broilers, at nine days of age, exhibited reduced feed intake, passed yellow feces containing undigested feed, and in some cases produced stringy, fish‑intestinal‑like droppings. A few birds were observed standing drowsily with poor general condition. Postmortem examination revealed an enlarged proventriculus, milky white in color and spherical in shape, with thickened, edematous walls; the glandular papillae were swollen, the gizzard was atrophic, the mucosa peeled off easily, and ulcers and erosions were present. In addition, some intestinal walls were thickened, and the intestines showed hemorrhagic inflammation of varying severity.

Diagnosis: Glandular and muscular gastritis in chickens
Medication: Xianweikang, 300 jin of water per bag; Ruizhiqing, 300 jin of water per bag; Meiyijing, 1,000 jin of water per bag; use continuously for four days.
Follow-up: The flock’s condition has improved, feed intake has increased, and the number of lethargic birds has dropped significantly. Two days later, the flock had returned to normal.
