Dinoflagellate Water Treatment Plan

2026-06-05

Date: June 30, 2025

Location: Qiaozhuang Town, Boxing County, Binzhou City

Cultured species: Whiteleg shrimp

Cultivation area: 3 mu of water surface at a depth of 1.7 meters.

Water quality parameters: pH 8.6, ammonia nitrogen 0, nitrite 0

Situation description: After adding fresh water, the pond water turned reddish—commonly referred to as “rust-colored water.” Microscopic examination revealed that dinoflagellates accounted for as much as 80% of the algal community.

Handling Plan

On a sunny morning, apply one packet of Gai Shui Ba Wang to 1.5 mu of water and run the aerator to increase oxygen levels.

In the evening, perform detoxification and bottom-conditioning by applying one bottle of Bishui Detoxification & Safety per 2 mu of water, along with one packet of Super Bottom Cleaner per mu.

The next day, continue detoxification and probiotic supplementation.

On the third day, apply algae inoculum and fertilizer: use one bottle of Super Algae Inoculum per 3 mu of water, along with one bottle of Quick-Acting Fertilizer Solution per 3 mu of water.

Analysis

With the onset of hot weather, many aquaculturists add water to their ponds, introducing dinoflagellates via the incoming water. These algae are highly active, and excessive feeding in the ponds leads to eutrophication. Consequently, dinoflagellates proliferate rapidly, often triggering red‑water blooms. Gai Shui Ba Wang is specifically formulated to target flagellates, effectively mitigating red‑water discoloration.
