Causes of Water Shortage and Corresponding Solutions

Fertilized water refers to the cultivation of beneficial algae such as green algae and diatoms in aquaculture systems. Its primary functions are as follows: high-quality algae serve as natural feed for fish and shrimp; they help maintain adequate dissolved oxygen levels in the culture water; and a healthy algal community can effectively degrade and reduce ammonia nitrogen, nitrite, and other harmful substances, thereby promoting the normal growth of fish and shrimp.

1. Due to the relatively low water temperatures in the early stages, coupled with unstable weather conditions such as overcast and rainy days and insufficient sunlight, the water temperature remained low, thereby limiting algal growth.

2. When water bodies are deficient in phosphorus, the applied phosphate fertilizer is adsorbed by acidic soils before it can be utilized by phytoplankton, resulting in slow phytoplankton growth and difficulty in achieving effective fertilization.

3. Excessive zooplankton in the water body, through their grazing on phytoplankton, leads to a decline in water quality.

4. Excessive large aquatic plants and algae absorb nutrients from the water, thereby inhibiting the growth and reproduction of other algal species.

5. A deficiency of the nutrients required for algal growth results in restricted algal proliferation.

6. When nitrite levels are elevated or the pH is too high or too low, each algal species has its own optimal pH range; if the pH falls outside this range—whether too low or too high—algal growth will be inhibited.

7. The water is turbid, with a high organic matter content. Reduced light intensity affects the vertical distribution of algae at different depths in the water body, influencing both their growth and spatial distribution.

Treatment plan: Before applying fertilizer, we recommend using Bishui Detoxification Stabilizer Enhanced Formula (for 40 mu of land) to detoxify the water and create a stable environment for algae. Follow up with Diatom King Platinum Edition (for 40 mu of land), combined with probiotic microbial consortium (for 5 mu of land), to enrich the water with beneficial microorganisms. If the water lacks sufficient algal strains, supplement with Super Algae Seed (for 8 mu of land) to further enhance water quality.
