The life style of ducks will change day and night with the influence of the duck's living environment. If farmers master these changes and conform to the changing law of ducks and implement regular and scientific feeding, they can raise and manage ducks well, reduce the feeding cost, effectively improve the laying rate of laying ducks and the weight gain rate of meat ducks, thus improving the feeding efficiency.

Diurnal variation of 1. duck feeding: under natural light, ducks have three feeding climaxes in a day and night, respectively in the morning, noon and evening. Accordingly, in feeding management should be done:(1) to strengthen early feeding. Ducks have a strong appetite at dawn. At this time, feeding and feeding can make laying ducks lay more eggs and meat ducks grow fat and gain weight faster. (2) Regular grazing. Grazing should be carried out during the three upsurge of duck feeding in the morning, in the middle and in the evening. At other times, the ducks should rest or be driven into the water to combine work and rest. If you need to drink water, give medicine or mix feeding, it is best to arrange it at the peak of duck feeding.

Diurnal variation of 2. duck egg production: It is reported that laying ducks mainly lay eggs after midnight to before dawn, usually not during the day. In order to improve the egg production rate, it should be done:(1) turn off the lights and stop the lighting at 10 o'clock in the evening to ensure that the laying ducks produce eggs in a quiet environment from 1 to 4 o'clock the next day. (2) If it is found that ducks generally lay eggs later than 5 o'clock and the egg head is small, it indicates that the concentrate in their diet is insufficient, and the concentrate should be increased in time according to the standard. (3) If ducks lay eggs during the day, it is mostly due to single feed, insufficient nutrition, early grazing in the morning or high temperature and humidity in the duck house. The feeding and management conditions should be improved in a targeted manner, and the grazing time of ducks every morning should be temporarily postponed (8 o'clock).

3. duck mating day and night variation: it is reported that the breeding duck mating generally to choose morning or evening, in the vast water. Therefore, it is necessary to make full use of the peak mating period of breeding ducks in the morning or evening to drive them to deeper waters to improve the fertilization rate of breeding ducks.

4. the diurnal variation of Youshi disease: Youshi disease is named after the onset of Youshi (17~19 o'clock) in the afternoon of ducks. When the disease occurs, the ducks move violently and quickly gather together, resulting in some weak ducks being trampled on and causing zero death, with a mortality rate of about 20%. This disease is caused by transport stress, so we should try to reduce the various stresses before and after the long-distance transport of ducks. Within a few days after the duck is transported, anti-stress drugs are added to the diet 1 to 2 hours before the day of the day to prevent the occurrence of the disease in time.

Diurnal variation of 5. immune response: it is reported that the sensitivity of poultry to immune preparations (vaccines, bacterins, etc.) changes periodically in day and night, with poor sensitivity and slow immune response during the day; when the night is close to the morning, epinephrine secretion is the most, and the immune response is the most sensitive. Therefore, the immunization of poultry (including ducks, geese and chickens) is effective in the early hours of the morning. There are two advantages:(1) poultry stop activities at night, easy to catch, small stress response. (2) Vaccination of poultry in the early hours of the morning of the day can make it faster and better to develop immunity.
